Welcome to Picketwire, where secrets surface, saints take sides, and everyone has a past worth revisiting.

Available now on Amazon as an e-edition for $3.99 and in print in April.

On the high plains of Southeast Colorado, nestled near the prehistoric tracks of dinosaurs and the slow curve of the Purgatoire River, lies the town of Picketwire—a place that welcomes the lost, the weary, and the delightfully strange. Founded by outlaws, visionaries, and merchants with secrets, this town in mythical Purgatory County is home to a liberal arts college, a penitentiary-turned-convent, and a cast of residents as unpredictable as the prairie wind.

When famed playwright Howdy Hanks returns for the premiere of his latest drama, old tensions flare with billionaire Wylie Boone, whose family name is etched into Picketwire’s foundations (and possibly someone else’s land). More sparks fly as Jemma Lu Tuttle, owner of the town’s largest business, sorts out her complicated relationship with both men and the discovery of her long lost son.

Meanwhile, newly ordained minister Jane Takamoto stumbles upon a hidden chapter of history buried in the nearby canyonlands.  As if all of this isn't enough Sister M's, a former prosecutor turned nun, finds herself running a modern-day underground railroad with the help of tour guide Tony Medrano, whose own family secrets may shake the foundations of Picketwire itself.

Comic, poignant, and threaded with revelation, Welcome to Picketwire is a love letter to community, second chances, and the curious alchemy of belonging. It invites readers into a community where the past is never quite past, and the truth, like the land itself, is layered, stubborn, and full of surprises.

The Curiosi Casebook by Tim Wintermute, is now available on Amazon as an e-edition for $3.99 or in paperback for $14.99.

SYNOPSIS

Long before the fall of the Roman Empire, a “secret service” known as the Curiosi gathered intelligence for Emperor Constantine. Although their name disappeared from the public record—hidden in the shadows of history they evolved into a secret society, and today, their modern counterparts still work behind the scenes, solving the world’s most unusual mysteries.
In this first volume of cases drawn from the Curiosi’s clandestine archives, a circle of eccentric investigators follows the faintest of clues across Paris, southern France, and the labyrinthine canals of Venice. From the recovery of a long-lost manuscript of a famous author’s first novel, to the shocking truth behind an acclaimed surrealist painting, each mystery takes readers further into the unknown.

Bound by intellect, curiosity, and a pact of silence, the Curiosi in these cases include a Parisian pursuer of lost objects, a Colorado bookseller, a young troubadour with ancient ties, and a nun with a scholar’s eye for relics. But the deeper they dig, the more tangled the past becomes—and the more dangerous.

SYNOPSIS

When Dora and Dick Carlson, lifelong New Yorkers, give up their Manhattan home to move to the picturesque port town of Ilwaco in southwest Washington State, the only mystery Dick (a well-known criminologist) intends to solve is the question of what to do with himself. As the new owner of the Sahalee Inn, Dora, meanwhile, can't wait to live out her dream of owning a charming inn - housed in a repurposed historic church.

Soon, however, the couple finds themselves relying on their bloodhound, Watson, to help confront an unwelcome host of criminals, ghosts, and bats in the belfry.  As Dora tries to explain away the unexpected occurrences to her startled guests, Dick realizes his criminology skills are going to be in demand if they wish to solve the flurry of mysteries breaking out at the Sahalee Inn.
