Collage series by Judy Dean

Every year I look forward to the precious few weeks when plants break the surface of the earth. They force their way through the post-winter rubble and leaf litter with astonishing gusto and in no time at all expand, unfurl, and in some cases, bloom. The life-affirming energy I observe in plants during early spring was my inspiration for a series of small collages (cut paper, paint with acrylics, pencil) I call “Risen.”
